Since September 1, 1964, the Illinois State University Planetarium has provided enriching and entertaining programs.

We're excited to explore the unimaginable secrets of the universe with you.

What's Available

We offer a variety of live and taped performances. Services include:

Public planetarium presentations
School and community group presentations
In-service teacher workshops
Traveling Telescope program
Adult education classes
Speakers Bureau

Some shows can be presented in various languages. Our facility includes a star theater with a Spitz A-3-P planetarium projector, a 30-foot diameter dome, and seats for 61 guests. Your experience also includes a spectacular lighting system and state-of-the-art video and sound.

The Monthly Skyline

The ISU Planetarium maintains a 24-hour hotline dealing with celestial events. Skyline is made possible by the cooperative efforts of the ISU Planetarium and the Twin City Amateur Astronomers, "Partners in Astronomy Education." Skyline is updated at the end of each month. Information on the ISU Planetarium's sky-related programs can be heard on the telephone by calling (309) 438-5007.
